Last Monday a police officer shot a residents dog while attempting to serve a warrant in Leander, Texas, just north of the state capitol of Austin. The officer was looking for a man named Bradly Neal Simpson, who is wanted for an expired vehicle registration, but instead ended up at the home of Renata and Chris Simmons. According to the officer, two German Shepherds began running towards him so he fired his weapon three times, one of which struck Vinny, the family dog, in the back of the neck. This case is under administrative review, while the Leander Police evaluate whether or not to change current tactics.
